Video: Loxone’s new existence Sensor
A few weeks back Loxone quietly added a brand new existence Sensor to their house automation range.
In addition to the Infrared motion as well as Brightness circuitry, this new gadget has a built-in acoustic sensor (is that different to a microphone?) to assist tell if a space is occupied.
Having had a number of implementations of lights based on motion in our old home over the years, I can appreciate anything that reduces the demand to wave your hands in the air when the lights go out unexpectedly.
While this new sensor is not infallible, it enables things like people speaking or the noise from a TV to assist choose if a space is still occupied. together with other sensors as well as the powerful logic abilities of the Loxone Config programming application, it can assist make these type of decisions based on several inputs too.
The surface install existence Sensor Tree (part number 100422 in white & 100423 in anthracite) has a detection angle of 360° horizontal as well as 110° vertical providing an 8m detection field at a ceiling height of 3m.
Believe it or not, with motions sensors, you have to relocation around for them to pick you up. Yes, with Loxone you can prolong the time out parameters to fit the method a space is used, – however we recognised space for enhancement here… For example, in non-traditional space designs or where the occupants may not relocation for a long time or where the occupants may not be in the direct field of view of the movement sensors.
In line with us continuously working to determine areas of enhancement in our products for residential as well as industrial building automation – we’ve established a existence Sensor that has a built-in acoustic sensor! This is in addition to infrared as well as brightness sensors.
